When knowing the name is not enough
The public MPMONITOR directory shows who we map. MJRC’s commissioned research goes deeper — into ownership, money, communication channels, distribution systems, relationships, historical change and the pathways through which information reaches audiences.
Bespoke research, not a paywalled database
We do not sell automatic access to the underlying research database and we do not offer instant downloadable reports.
Every assignment begins with a client’s question. MJRC then designs the research scope, defines the evidence required, agrees the deliverables and provides a tailored fee quotation and contract.
What can we investigate?
A commission can start with a single account or entity and extend to a national information ecosystem or multi-country network.
Who is behind this actor?
Ownership, control, funding, management, related entities, public channels and material historical changes.
Who operates this source?
Websites, accounts, platforms, distribution networks or other channels whose provenance needs to be established.
How are these actors connected?
Corporate, political, advertising, telecom, institutional and cross-border relationships.
Who shapes this information environment?
Country- or sector-level mapping of producers, funders, distributors, intermediaries and regulators.
How did this message travel?
Origin, movement, amplification and relationships between actors and channels where the evidence allows reconstruction.
What changed over time?
Ownership transfers, mergers, channel changes, corporate restructuring and shifts in communication infrastructure.
What can the analysis contain?
Provenance dossiers
Detailed profiles of relevant entities, ownership structures, funding, communication channels and relationships.
Network maps
Visual and analytical mapping of links between companies, media, platforms, political actors, telecom operators and intermediaries.
Ecosystem studies
Country- or sector-level analysis identifying the principal actors that produce, finance, distribute and amplify information.
Historical analysis
Reconstruction of changes in ownership, control, organisational relationships and communication infrastructure.
Narrative pathway analysis
Analysis of how specified content or narratives move between actors and channels and acquire reach.
Strategic briefing
Executive interpretation of the evidence, supported by relevant source documentation and agreed visual outputs.
Indicative fees
These figures indicate the scale of typical commissions. They are not fixed-price products.
| Commission | Typical scope | Indicative fee |
|---|---|---|
| Targeted Provenance Assessment | One entity, channel or tightly defined provenance question. | from €8,500 |
| Extended Entity / Network Investigation | Deeper ownership, funding, communication and relationship analysis. | €15,000–€25,000 |
| Country / Sector Information-Ecosystem Study | Mapping and analysis of the principal actors in a market or sector. | €25,000–€45,000 |
| Cross-Border / Multi-Country Network Analysis | Relationships and structures spanning multiple jurisdictions. | €45,000–€100,000+ |

| Ongoing Monitoring & Periodic Analysis | Continued tracking of agreed actors, markets, channels or information questions. | from €7,500 / month |
Final fees depend on the number of entities and jurisdictions, historical depth, language requirements, access to relevant records, monitoring period, analytical complexity and required deliverables. Applicable taxes and exceptional third-party costs, where relevant, are agreed before work begins.
How commissioning works
Tell us the problem
Send the entity, country, channel, narrative or information question you need to understand.
We scope it
MJRC clarifies the jurisdictions, research question, timeframe, intended use and confidentiality needs.
We propose the work
You receive a tailored proposal setting out scope, methodology, deliverables, timetable, fee and payment terms.
We contract
If you proceed, MJRC issues a contract covering the agreed assignment. Research begins under the agreed contractual and payment terms.
We investigate
The research team combines accumulated MPMONITOR knowledge with current verification, documentary sources and relevant local expertise.
We deliver
The agreed analysis is prepared specifically for the commissioning client in the format set out in the proposal.
Request a proposal
A short description is enough to begin. Submitting an enquiry does not commission research and creates no obligation.
- Your name
- Organisation
- Work email
- Country or countries concerned
- Entity, website, account or network concerned
- What you need to understand
- Intended use of the analysis
- Preferred timeframe
- Indicative budget
- Anything else we should know
What happens next? MJRC reviews the enquiry. If the proposed work fits our provenance expertise, we contact you to clarify the assignment and prepare a tailored proposal and fee quotation. Paid work begins only after scope, fee, deliverables and contractual terms have been agreed.
Commissioned work is separate from the public directory
The scope, contractual terms and treatment of commissioned findings are agreed with the client. Confidentiality requirements can be incorporated into the contract where needed. Commissioning research does not automatically mean the resulting analysis will be published by MPMONITOR.
No automatic purchase
No research is commissioned through an enquiry alone. Paid assignments proceed only after MJRC and the client agree the scope, fee, deliverables and contractual terms.
