Treading in the footsteps of Dominic Cummings, the UK prime minister’s most senior adviser who drove hundreds of miles in spite of a lockdown ordered by his boss, Nigel Farage repeated the feat, but at a much bigger scale. It turned out, if we are to believe a picture posted by Mr Farage himself on Twitter, that, despite the coronavirus restrictions, he traveled all the way to the United States to attend a rally planned by the American president, and Mr Farage’s chum, Donald Trump. Mr Farage, who is now being investigated over this trip, won the idiot of the week title with distinction. In fact, if more such reckless people come forth, we will need to launch the double-idiot of the week rubric.
