MP Douglas Ross beat off competition to win the Idiot of the Week title. Within hours only of becoming the Scottish Tory leader on August 5th, Mr Ross said that his goal was to build a “strong” Tory party that could provide “scrutiny and opposition” to the Scottish National Party (SNP), the largest political party in Scotland in terms of seats in both the Westminster and Holyrood parliaments.
In short, he basically conceded defeat even before an election was held.
