Who is behind this organisation?

A Source Passport is the permanent record of an organisation that shapes public information: who owns it, who pays for it and where it publishes. Every fact carries a status, every section lists its sources, and every change is kept in a public history.

How to read a passport

Up to six sections, each answering one question. A passport shows the sections that apply to that kind of organisation: a party has no owners, a bank no state advertising. For news media in the EU, the first three cover what the European Media Freedom Act (Article 6) asks them to disclose.

  1. 01 Who is it? Origin
  2. 02 Who stands behind it? Control
  3. 03 Who pays? Money
  4. 04 Where does it appear? Channels
  5. 05 How does it travel? Distribution
  6. 06 Who is connected? Networks

Transparency levels

The level says how much of the key information about an organisation is on record. It is not a mark of quality: it measures what can be known.

Open
Every key disclosure for this kind of organisation is on record.
Partial
At least half of the key disclosures are on record.
Limited
Only some key disclosures are on record.
Not yet disclosed
None of the key disclosures is on record yet: nothing published by the organisation, nothing found in public sources so far.
